The 2019 Senior Play will be performed August 7-9 in Cato Hall, featuring students from years 10-12 in this classic absurdist comedy.
First performed in 1966 in England, Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead expands upon the exploits of two very minor characters from Shakespeare's Hamlet. So minor in fact that nobody including themselves can tell which one is which. Embraced for its wit and intellect, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern will delight audiences of all ages, but especially from year 5 and above. Reminiscent of Waiting for Godot, think a bizzare combination of Laurel and Hardy inside Hamlet. Despite being more than half a century since its premiere, Tom Stoppard’s best known work is a timeless comedy that will make you laugh and think, and laugh again.
